This was a demonstration piece I worked on for the Franklin County Art Alliance in Chambersburg. What a wonderful group. It was a good experience for me to share how my mind creates the paintings and so on. I have painted this horned owl a couple of times. This was a scene outside my studio window last year. This poor little squirrel was feasting on the bird feed I put out for him and the birds during a wintery day. As you can see he was just covered with snow! I just love it when I can show case animals in very real situations. Be kind to our little neighbors as winter approaches.

Here is a new little painting of one of my favorite winter birds. He is waiting for me to hang the feeder. I enjoy getting out and selling my limited edition bird ornaments every year. The Cardinal is still the favorite! I will be at Brittle Bark, 33 W. Main Street on Saturday 12/8 from 10-1 to personalize ornaments.

This is my interpretation of the beauty of the ice on the tree tops and the sparkle of sun light dancing around the icy branches. This was the November challenge for the Daily Painters of PA. My goal was to make the tips of the trees sparkle and bounce light and color around.
