I thought this would be a nice goodbye snow and welcome spring painting. I had set up a feeding station where I could watch and photograph birds all winter. My objective was to use the birds placing them in different positions around this beautiful red dish of food. The rough paper was a challenge but made for a more interesting background.

I painted this painting from a scene right outside my studio window. It was one of those cold dreary snowy days and this bright little fellow came to visit. It is no wonder people just love the warm colorful sight of a cardinal in winter. Hoping you all have a very happy and peaceful holiday season.
