"Black-chinned Hummingbird" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

7"x9" watercolor on Arches Board

This is another western bird called the black-chinned hummingbird, who I met in Arizona. In the Red Rock State Park they have hummingbird feeders set up and all kinds of different hummingbirds come to feed. I could have stayed there all day! I just love to paint these little birds. Although they are small they have so much character. If interested in purchasing this painting please e-mail me at debra@debkreiger.com.

Gray Breasted Jay by Debra Tritt Kreiger

6.5x9.5 watercolor on crescent board

We recently took a tip to Sedona, AZ. While hiking the red rocks I happened to photograph this western Jay, which in doing my research have concluded it is a Gray Breasted Jay. Armed with a lot of references I created this painting with the rocky earth colors as the background. I would say he/she is a beauty! Very grateful for the opportunity to see some of the western birds. More to come!
