"Crabby" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

8" x10" watercolor on arches board

I have been experimenting with different watercolor boards. Using my sand technique this painting turned out great! Acts just like paper.
This is my second crab painting! I just love it! Creepy but interesting. Happy Halloween!

"Cardinal Pair" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

11"x15 watercolor on 140lb arches paper

This is the first painting I've done with the female and the male cardinal. I think the female is just as beautiful as the male. This is a early spring scene as courtship is beginning.  An interesting fact is the male cardinal feeds the female during courtship!

Come see and purchase the paintings at Fall into Fine Craft, October 24th and 25th at the Carlisle Expo Center, 101 K Street, Carlisle, PA.

"Kestrel" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

11"x15" watercolor on 140lb arches paper

I love to paint wildlife, especially when I actually get to meet my subject. I met this beautiful kestrel at the Charleston Aquarium. They call him Phoenix because his talons were burned when he landed on a live wire. His accident prevents him from being released back into the wild. He was a joy to see and talk to! In the wild he would be a little thinner, but I chose to paint him as beautiful as I saw him.
I also incorporated a new technique I learned from Luke Buck which really gives it a painterly feel.

"Hatchling" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

8"x10" on arches watercolor board

Here is a little painting to brighten things up on this rainy Saturday! You can see the size of the sea turtle hatchling compared to the sand dollar and the shell. These tiny little creatures really have their work cut out for them as they head to sea.
