"Green Sea Turtle" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

11"x15" watercolor on 140lb arches paper

This is the finished green sea turtle I was painting at Brainvessel{The Gallery} during the Best Kept Secrets Tour. This is one of many green sea turtles I was fortunate to see on our last trip to Maui. I just have fallen in love with these magnificent creatures. All the sea turtles are endangered, and it is all because of mans careless habits. If we all stopped using plastic bags it would benefit all the ocean creatures. If we stopped dumping trash in the ocean that would be even better.
If interested in purchasing please contact me at debra@debkreiger.com or the gallery.

"Messages from Heaven" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

This is a story about messages sent from heaven and the power of art. My father-in-law recently passed on and this is the story of the three cardinals. I had painted this particular painting before but for a reason I can't explain I felt it needed these three cardinals. So I framed it up and took it to his room to brighten things up and he seemed pleased as he smiled when he saw the birds. Close to the time of his passing there appeared three cardinals outside the window, singing loudly so he could hear them. I wasn't there when the birds appeared but when I was told it gave me goosebumps. God works in mysterious ways and I suppose he was working through me the day I painted those cardinals. I'm sure those cardinals were guiding him onto his next journey. May he rest in peace.

"Black-chinned Hummingbird" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

7"x9" watercolor on Arches Board

This is another western bird called the black-chinned hummingbird, who I met in Arizona. In the Red Rock State Park they have hummingbird feeders set up and all kinds of different hummingbirds come to feed. I could have stayed there all day! I just love to paint these little birds. Although they are small they have so much character. If interested in purchasing this painting please e-mail me at debra@debkreiger.com.

Gray Breasted Jay by Debra Tritt Kreiger

6.5x9.5 watercolor on crescent board

We recently took a tip to Sedona, AZ. While hiking the red rocks I happened to photograph this western Jay, which in doing my research have concluded it is a Gray Breasted Jay. Armed with a lot of references I created this painting with the rocky earth colors as the background. I would say he/she is a beauty! Very grateful for the opportunity to see some of the western birds. More to come!

"A Rare Moment" by Debra Tritt-Kreiger

8.5"x11 watercolor on Arches Paper

As I have begun painting more paintings of all the different birds I have encountered and photographed, I found that this was indeed a rare find. I encountered this bird on a beach in New Jersey. In my research I believe it is a Bristle-Thighed Curlew which is in the sandpiper family and their numbers are decreasing due to climate change and the loss of habitat. Really happy to bring this bird into my painting world and help people realize we all share one planet and we need to take care of it.
