I've been experimenting with a new technique. I paint on crescent board or watercolor board, the traditional watercolor way. When finished I have been applying a glaze over top. This was a demonstration piece I worked on for the Franklin County Art Alliance in Chambersburg. What a wonderful group. It was a good experience for me to share how my mind creates the paintings and so on. I have painted this horned owl a couple of times. I thought I would work on some watercolor board. It's different than working on paper. This is a sunset from Marco Island Florida. One of my favorite places. The shells are plentiful and it is peaceful and gorgeous.

Inspired by the beach and a box shells. This is a very nice find. I'm going to guess this is a Lighting Whelk. There so many different types of shells, so during my research I just have to take a good guess.
