This is a scene I knew I was going to paint as soon as I took a few reference photos. This is the stern of the ship. The tall ship of Delaware teaches people how to sail and teaches you a lot of history. I haven't ventured on a voyage yet, but hope to in the future. I just loved the huge flag and the motion, angles and shadows are very exciting. If you would like to purchase this painting please e-mail me at debra@debkreiger.com.
I'm still on the beach in my mind! My favorite beach towel and flip flops made the perfect beach still life painting. Shells, sand and all!! If interested in purchasing this painting please e-mail me at debra@debkreiger.com.
Mother Robin has found her forever home thanks to Lyn at Art and Soul Gallery in Lemoyne. This robin was a young bird who I observed in my backyard. She was inexperienced in the art of making a nest but along side her mate she persisted and they overcame. The females heads are not as dark as the males as well as their breast are a little duller. She entertained me for days and I'm grateful!

This is a painting inspired by our trip to Marco Island in Florida. The shells are abundant and just awesome. Look at all the shapes, sizes, and colors the sea produces! My concern for the oceans creatures are real when you see shells touched with oil as the large blue shell was. I cleaned it up a bit in the painting. See this new painting at Carlisle Arts Learning Center Exhibit, Reception is 5/19/17 from 6:30-8pm.
This is a new Green Sea Turtle Painting. I'm still using my reference pictures I took from Hawaii! I believe I've painted her at lease 4 times. This
is Harry the blue heron I met in Hilton Head, S.C. He is a local fellow
who comes for dinner every night at the local marina. He really posed
nicely for me and my friends as we marveled in the presence of the wild
existing peacefully with mankind. See in
person at the Carlisle Arts Learning Center Exhibit(Shared
Observations), 38 West Pomfret Ave., Carlisle, PA from May 19th - June
19th.

This egret was resting along the Beaufort River in S.C. I liked the backlighting of the bird and decided to create a sunset sky to play off the cool white of the bird. The colors in this new painting sing! See in person at the Carlisle Arts Learning Center Exhibit(Shared Observations), 38 West Pomfret Ave., Carlisle, PA from May 19th - June 19th.

This young buck befriended my brother-in-law, so he was kind enough to take his picture so I could immortalize him forever in a painting! Every creature has his own little or big personality. He seems to have a very curious and kind one. What do you think?
I've been in turtle mod for the last couple weeks. This is a cute little painting minus the turtles! Inspired by a turtle loving friend Amanda who took the photographic reference and graciously gave me permission to use it!
If interested in purchasing this painting please e-mail me at debra@debkreiger.com.

Last week I was out plein air painting with my brother Jon on the Gettysburg battlefield. I'm generally a fair weather painter, but it was a cold morning and it felt pretty good to get some of the cob webs from winter cleaned out! I painted most of the painting on site and decided to add an American crow on the fence post.
Happy Spring! This is the painting I started while working at the Drawing Room Gallery(333 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, PA) this past Saturday. Stop in and see all the beautiful art! Thinking of the summer and the fresh smell of lovely flowers. I could just take a seat right here. This painting was so much fun to paint. I loved painting the organic shapes and shadows of the petunias against the chair and a small addition of my favorite flower the daisy! Thinking warm thoughts!
If interested in purchasing this painting please e-mail me at debra @debkreiger.com
Some paintings are timeless. I've always loved still life paintings. It always gives you time to be with the subject to study color, shapes, dark and lights etc. This is a really great way to learn how to use your medium.
If interested in purchasing this painting e-mail debra@debkreiger.com.
This brings back great memories of a trip we took to Hilton Head many years ago with friends. This is Jason searching for treasures on the beach! This is part of my private collection.
