If you've never experienced a trip to the top of Mauna Kea on the Big Island in Hawaii it is well worth the trip. Seeing a sunset above the clouds was an awesome experience. It is a challenge to reproduce the effects of mother nature in all her glory. I can say I'm truly blessed to be able to try.

"The Last Snow" Watercolor 7.5"x5" on Rough Paper

I thought this would be a nice goodbye snow and welcome spring painting. I had set up a feeding station where I could watch and photograph birds all winter. My objective was to use the birds placing them in different positions around this beautiful red dish of food. The rough paper was a challenge but made for a more interesting background.
