"Out and About" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

10x8 watercolor on crescent board
Last week I was out plein air painting with my brother Jon on the Gettysburg battlefield. I'm generally a fair weather painter, but it was a cold morning and it felt pretty good to get some of the cob webs from winter cleaned out! I painted most of the painting on site and decided to add an American crow on the fence post.

Painting Graystones Preserve by Debra Tritt Kreiger

The Graystones Preserve is indeed a hidden gem in the Pocono mountains since 1934. Thanks to our member Elizabeth Gallucci for making the arrangements and giving us great tours along with her knowledge and history of the preserve. We  all had fun and picked up a few tips form everyone. What a beautiful place and we hit the perfect weekend. I painted three paintings. All are acrylic on canvas with the first one having a touch of oils. The first painting was our view from our cabin! The second is of Mud Run, which one part of the creek with a lot of rocks.! The last is a very peaceful still pond. The colors were fabulous.
If interested in purchasing any of these paintings please e-mail me at debra@debkreiger.com.

"Little Blue" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

8"x10" Acrylic on canvas

This is the second plein air painting I did while with my niece. We went to the Middletown boat launch with the Susquehanna Valley Plein Air Painters. The river was really high so I decided to paint this tree lined path right beside the river. I really liked the way the light takes you through the trees and if you look real close you'll see a little bluebird sitting on her house.
My niece painted a wonderful painting of the river. I believe it is going to be a gift for some one special!

"Zinnias and Sunflowers on the Farm" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

8"x10" Acrylic on canvas (Plein Air)

Had a really nice day with the Eric and Nancy Olson, friends and family in Port Royal, PA. When I got home all I had to do was add the sunflowers and a few more zinnias. This was a view from the farm looking over to the neighbors farm and these wonderful silos and farm buildings glowing in the sun. There was so many areas to paint I had to make sure I included the zinnias, sunflowers, butterflies and the pond which are a few of many that makes this place magical!

"On the Farm" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

On the Farm 3.5x5 watercolor on 140lb paper
 Sold

This is a little miniature painting I did of a wonderful Pennsylvania barn and farm. The bright sunshine shapes and colors are most interesting. I love to honor our farmers by showing the beauty they create in our landscapes. Happy to say this little painting was sold at Brath & Hughes Gallery recently.

"Morning Sunshine" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

"Morning Sunshine" 8"x10" Acrylic on canvas board

Another great morning of painting. I just was drawn to the shapes the shadows made on the barn and the color. I liked having the flowers in partial shade in the foreground. This is part of Petra Wirth's barn and was painted plein air. Thank you Petra!

This past Saturday I spent a sunny windy day on the Blue Hound Farm in Lewisberry with fellow artist plein air painting. I decided to take my acrylics along since it was so windy. "Catch of the Day" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

"Catch of the Day" Watercolor 15"x22" on 250lb paper

This is a little something different and a little humorous. I saw this woman fishing and just knew it was going to be a painting. I was born in Minnesota so I have this secret love of fishing. I just loved all the pink and the manicured painted nails. Not what you usually see when watching people fish! I worked to make the colors and composition come together in harmony. Hope you enjoy!
