"Overcast Day on the Susquehanna" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

8" x 10" oil on canvas

This is a plein air painting painted from West Fairview park in Enola along the Susquehanna river. It was a overcast comfortable day.  My niece was visiting and we went out for her first plein air painting adventure. She brought along her water mixable oils for me to try. I enjoyed using the oils and am planning on working with them a little more in the future. I believe she is hooked now and plans to do some plein air painting from her home in Philadelphia. Looking forward to seeing her work!
She is a real ham!!

"A Summer Morning" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

8"x10" Acrylic on canvas.

This is a painting I did on Monday from Liz's backyard! How lucky she is! It was a peaceful sunny morning along the Conodoquinet. I was glad to be out with my painting friends from Susquehanna Valley Plein Air Painters. A short thunder storm went thru and cut out painting short, but I had enough done I just had to put in some details when in the studio.

"Garden on High Street" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

8x10 acrylic on canvas

This is the first plein air painting I did from Cecelia's neighbors back yard garden. What a nice way to kick off Camp Hill plein air. I was really happy with this one and only had to add a few more lights when I got it home.

"Cedar Run" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

8x10 acrylic plein air on canvas

This is another painting completed during Camp Hill Plein Air. I had a nice shady spot to listen and see all the wonderful performances of nature. What caught my eye was the wonderful field of flowers blooming in the distance and all the rich colors reflecting off the water.

"Rockville Bridge" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

8x10 acrylic on canvas board
This was my first painting of the spring season. I was painting with the SVPAP from Fort Hunter. I was walking in the park looking for a good spot to paint and came upon a gentleman who had just taken a morning walk along the banks of the river. There was a flurry of activity from the seagulls on the river. He said they were feasting on the newly hatched may flies. That was the inspiration for this painting!

"The Tree" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

"The Tree" 10"x8", 140lb paper stretched on stretcher strips ans sprayed.

This painting was painted plein air at Fuller Lake when we had the Susquehanna Valley plein air painters picnic. This was a new way to paint using the watercolor paper stretched on the stretcher strips. I sealed it and it will pop into a nice frame without any glass or mat.
The tree was what caught my eye. Sort of like painting wrinkles on an old person, this tree had a lot of personality and character as it sits looking over the lake.

"Morning Sunshine" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

"Morning Sunshine" 8"x10" Acrylic on canvas board

Another great morning of painting. I just was drawn to the shapes the shadows made on the barn and the color. I liked having the flowers in partial shade in the foreground. This is part of Petra Wirth's barn and was painted plein air. Thank you Petra!

"Signs of Spring" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

"Signs if Spring" 10"x8 Acrylic painting on panel

This is a painting I started plein air and finished in the studio. I am experimenting with my palette and painted this with very limited colors. I was more aware of composition and design while out in the field this time. This is a scene from Vivians farm house in Dillsburg. I loved this barn as soon as I saw it!

"The Blue Hound Barn" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

"The Blue Hound Barn" Acrylic on 10"x8" canvas

This is my second painting while plein air painting at the Blue Hound Farm in Lewisberry.
So many places to paint! I could hardly pick a spot! I felt this magnificent barn needed to be painted. It was bathed in the afternoon sun, which warmed me up a bit since it was a bit windy and cool.

"Letort Rushing" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

"Letort Rushing" 5.5"x8.5" on 140lb paper
This was painted plein air looking down on the rushing water of the Letort waterfall as it prepares to meet the Conodoguinet Creek. What a beautiful November day we had. Every plein air painting is a challenge for me . I liked all the activity going on and the calm pool near the rocks. I think I captured the rush!

"View from Negley Park" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

"View from Negley Park" 8.5"x7.5" watercolor on 140lb paper

This is a view from Negley park looking over at the Harvey Taylor Bridge. My mission that day was to choose the brightest fall tree I could find and paint it. I think I succeeded.

"Reflections of Autumn" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

"Reflections of Autumn" 10"x7.5" on 140lb Arches paper

This is a piece I did plein air painting at Fuller Lake last week. I finished the painting in my studio. It turned out to be almost abstract! So much activity going on in nature in the fall season. All the textures and colors. My senses seem to go into overload! It was a beautiful day!
