This fellow I met while we were on vacation in Kaua'i. There are Roosters and chickens running wild all over the island. They are not native to the island, but were brought for food. This is a small painting of one of St Marks Lutheran Church (Mechanicsburg) entrances. I was asked to make some note cards for them to use, so I thought this old fashion entrance had a lot of character. Hoping this will inspire more people to rejoice, gather and pray. I donated the painting to the church.

I am working on a group of paintings that will go together nicely or stand alone. Here I've created long paintings(1 of 2) with the little hatchlings as they move toward the ocean for their life-long journey.

This painting has been on my easel for some time. It started with just the lobster buoys (from a photo I took in Cape Cod). I was drawn to all the shapes and colors. As I pondered over the drawing  I realized it needed a living character. I added the seagull. It was a challenge for me, and that is what I needed. I really tested my watercolor skills on this one. I stuck to the traditional watercolor painting technique and used no white paint. this project has taught me to have patience, and to know things will eventually work out. I also have a wonderfully talented son who I can call to help critique. I'm pretty happy with the results. Looking forward to spring and summer.
