As I have begun painting more paintings of all the different birds I have encountered and photographed, I found that this was indeed a rare find. I encountered this bird on a beach in New Jersey. In my research I believe it is a Bristle-Thighed Curlew which is in the sandpiper family and their numbers are decreasing due to climate change and the loss of habitat. Really happy to bring this bird into my painting world and help people realize we all share one planet and we need to take care of it.
