I had a wonderful private oil painting lesson with Claire Carnell this week. I haven't painted in oils in years and I just wanted to give it a go. I really enjoyed painting this apple. Claire lovingly clipped apples and pears off the trees stems, leaves and all! This fellow made the grade. We had a good time painting together. I'm very pleased with the results!

Here is the third in a series called broken. On this painting I tried to give the sand a blue green cast and used the yellows golds and oranges to add interest to the treasures of the sea!

I painted this green sea turtle from a photo I took from a black sand beach on the Big Island of Hawaii. What a wonderful site to see. She was posing so nicely for me in the afternoon sun. The black sand beach was an amazing site to see. I'm planning on going back to do more research!
