 This was an adventure for sure. I never painted in the dark and it proved very interesting and fun to do. The tree was up lit so it created a nice center of interest. This was in the yard where we stayed at Martha's Vineyard. Made even more fun my painting buddies and hubby were with me!

 Just got home from a wonderful and inspirational painting trip to Martha's Vineyard, MA. This is the West Chop Lighthouse in Vineyard Haven. It was a beautiful, but windy day. Met some wonderful people from the town! I had all but the doors and windows finished when it started to sprinkle. Just finished that up in the studio. More to come!!!!

Saturday is Harvest of the Arts from 9am-5pm in Carlisle. I will have a booth#46 there. Time to think about those Christmas gifts!!!!

Painting in Mt Gretna - Debra Tritt Kreiger

Had a wonderful day painting at Mt. Gretna today with the Susquehanna Valley Plein Air Painters. Lots of sunshine and shade making for some interesting textures and shapes.This is part of the playhouse painted with acrylics. Just a few things to work on and it'll be finished.

So pleased to find out this painting was juried into the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society's 35th Juried Exhibition! The show will hang at the State Museum of Pennsylvania from November 8, 2014 through February 8th, 2015. Opening reception will be November 16th from 2-4 p.m.

"Winter on the Susquehanna" 11" x15" watercolor on 140lb arches paper

I've had these reference photos for some time and knew I wanted to paint this unusual scene. I came across this fellow on a very cold winter day off the shore of Enola. The Susquehanna river was cold, snowy and ice covered. This great blue heron was all fluffed out and ready to take a nap on the icy water. This was just amazing to see.
