"Harry" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

10"x14" watercolor on 260lb arches paper

This is Harry the blue heron I met in Hilton Head, S.C. He is a local fellow who comes for dinner every night at the local marina. He really posed nicely for me and my friends as we marveled in the presence of the wild existing peacefully with mankind. See in person at the Carlisle Arts Learning Center Exhibit(Shared Observations), 38 West Pomfret Ave., Carlisle, PA from May 19th - June 19th.

"Winter on the Susquehanna" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

"
"Winter on the Susquehanna" 11" x15" watercolor on 140lb arches paper

I've had these reference photos for some time and knew I wanted to paint this unusual scene. I came across this fellow on a very cold winter day off the shore of Enola. The Susquehanna river was cold, snowy and ice covered. This great blue heron was all fluffed out and ready to take a nap on the icy water. This was just amazing to see.
