"A Sunny Day" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

"A Sunny Day" 11"x15" watercolor on 140lb arches paper

Here is my favorite model Sunny. I've used him in a couple other paintings. This special painting will debut in NYC in June along with the painting "Curious" also featuring Sunny, and a colorful painting I call "Salsa". The show is called "Bound By F". These paintings will represent felines and food! The show is being sponsored by Brath&Hughes Gallery (Mechanicsburg) and curated by Steven (Fritz) Weiss (NY).  Public reception is 6/14/2014 from 1-5pm at 530 West 25th Street, 4th floor, suite 406, New York, NY. This is in the Manhattan arts district of Chelsea.

"Brass and Citrus" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

Brass and Citrus 8.25 x 10.25 watercolor on 140lb Arches paper

This was a class demo I did to show the students how to paint brass. I loved this bucket because it had so many interesting flaws which gave it great character.

Work in Progress by Debra Tritt Kreiger

Watercolor on 140lb Arches paper. Size 15"x11"

This is a work in progress..I started this during the wine walk and thought it would be good to post as many were interested in the process. I build color and depth before I work any details. This is a bowl of strawberries which will be a visual feast when it is done!(I hope!)

"Salsa" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

"Salsa" Watercolor 10.5"x8" on 140lb Arches Paper

I just love painting these colorful fruits and veggies. Pushing the color palette is exciting for me. And a bonus was the texture on some of the older peppers and the wonderful sunshine gracing the still life. Hope this brightens your day and inspires you to make some salsa!

"Violets" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

"Violets" 13"x10 Watercolor on 140lb paper

I painted at the PA Garden Show of York with the Susquehanna Valley Plein Air Painters. It was a wonderful and humbling experience. I painted a still life arrangement with yellow tulips and pearl marbles in a clear vase. I can't show it to you because I traded it with an aspiring young 9 year old artist named Kate. She watched me most of the day and went home to do her own painting! How great is that!
So I thought I'd post my favorite painting of the every so romantic violets.

"Juiced" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

"Juiced" 10"x7" watercolor on 140 lb paper

This is a new still life painting of one of my heirlooms. It is an antique milk glass juicer that belonged to my grandmother which she used when my father was born. I also used a pretty silver trimmed plate to compliment it and showcase the fruit.

"Curious" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

"Curious" 15"x11" watercolor on 140lb paper

Just finished! One of my favorite things is painting a still life. I was setting up one morning with a wonderful morning light and my second favorite subject appeared on the scene. After reviewing my photographs I decided to paint both. I think it made a more interesting still life. What do you think?

"Pepper" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

"Pepper" Watercolor 5"x3.5" on 300lb Arches Paper

This is a mini. I love to do these little paintings in between the larger ones. Gives me a little practice in painting a little quicker. I also wanted to try the 300lb paper which I like very much. On the original the colors are a little deeper. I used the layers of lettuce to give a different texture into the mix and to incorporate the complimentary color scheme.
